Get Connected:
Worship & Liturgy

Worship is more than just singing, of course; it encompasses all the ways we orient our lives toward God. Liturgy, similarly, is not merely the words we read in the bulletin but the way we choose to anchor and order our worship in that which is good, true, and beautiful. As a ministry domain at Advent, Worship and Liturgy primarily refers to the way these broader concepts come into focus when the people of God gather in the sanctuary--Sunday services, midweek prayer, compline, and more. In addition to attending these opportunities, here are some ways to connect more deeply as a volunteer:

Worship Service Team

  • Reading scripture

  • Leading prayers

  • Serving communion

  • Music team

Media Team

  • Running the sound booth

  • Advancing slides

  • Operating camera for streaming first service

Sanctuary Support Team

  • Baking communion bread

  • Preparing the altar

  • Washing communion cups

  • Resetting everything at the end of services
